ThumbnailI had a photograph published this month in High Country News , a small, non-profit magazine. The Art Director for the magazine found my image on Flickr and contacted me about using it for an article in this month’s issue.   You can read the article and see the image on their website: The Second Second City . They were nice enough [...]

I’m changing my Year 34 project.  The goal was to take a picture a day.  But, I’m finding that to be more difficult than I thought.  The main problem is that I don’t go very many interesting places on a regular basis.  Most days I spend more time working on my computer than going somewhere.  [...]

  • Tony пишет: It’s a long steep hill the turns into a roller coaster ride of numerous small hills at the top. This continues until mile 15. This is what did me in. I felt great when I crossed mile 13…not so much at mile 15. By mile 16, I was getting a little worried because [...]

  • ThumbnailThe 4th Annual Missoula Marathon was held today and I ran it.  It was my first. It all started at 4:00am…or, actually, 3:53am when I woke up, looked at the clock, and cursed because I couldn’t roll over and go back to sleep.  I got up instead and shut off my alarm.  I didn’t want to [...]

Thanks! Are your pictures posted somewhere that I could view? I’d like to see them.

Thanks, Andy. The barrel racing is nice because you know exactly where the horse and rider are going to be so you can pre-plan your shots. All the other events are hard to predict and you just hope you get lucky.

  • I heard about this short film back when I was in school at the Art Institute, but I didn’t get around watching it until today. That’s probably a good thing because I would have been totally disappointed in my own work after viewing this. It’s a fully computer-generated film, created by a single person, Alex [...]

  • Last weekend I drove up to Augusta, Montana for the American Legion Rodeo.  I attended the rodeo back in 2008 while I was in school at the Rocky Mountain School of Photography and had a good time, so I was looking forward to returning this year.  Back then, I was shooting with a different (and [...]

ThumbnailYesterday was my birthday.  I turned 34-yrs old.  I had a pretty good day.  Slept late.  Got a birthday phone call from my Mom.  Then, a video call from my younger brother.  I got to see my niece and nephew, although I sometimes think they are more amused with seeing themselves on the screen than talking [...]

  • ThumbnailThe following video was my last visual effects project during my brief time at AI Portland. Once again, I was the actor for the project. My laptop made another debut as well. Try not to judge me too harshly for running Windows 7 on a MacBook Pro. My part was shot in the green screen studio [...]

  • Thumbnail One of my projects last term involved modeling an outdoor and indoor scene and animating a character named Bloke (who was already modeled and provided to us) in the interior scene.  The outdoor scene was to have the most detail and provide the establishing shot or frame of reference for the interior scene.  I choose [...]

  • Tony wrote a new blog post: My Second Term 2 years, 4 months ago

My second term has started here at the Art Institute of Portland.  I had my first class yesterday afternoon, Typography I.  I dropped it immediately after class ended.  It didn’t sound fun at all and I was the least bit interested in learning about typography.  I also dropped my Color Theory class, which I would [...]

  • Here is my first video short contain visual effects that I learned in my Intro to Visual Effects course at the Art Institute of Portland.  It could use a little polish, but considering that it is my first attempt and that I shot, edited, and composited the entire thing in four days, I think it [...]
